How to get the scent off of rubber boots?

I bought a pair of rubber boots before the season started and they have a strong, rubbery smell. I've tried leaving them in a box full of dirt, scent killer, etc. and the scent is still there. Now I'm just leaving them outside on our porch. Any suggestions?

Make sure they're locked up. The deer will have them drug off and chewed up. Then you'll have to get another pair of stinky new rubber boots.

something that is a normal smell in the area you intend to use them in or another alternative is to leave smelly items out a while when you're not there so they get used to YOUR smell...lol

I have heard coon pee, cow pie, piggy pie, whatever is out there...covering it up with something they are familiar with....

I put them in an trash bag and pour baking soda in them, then seal it up. To be honest I don't think the smell of rubber boots is going to spook the deer. More likely the human inside them that they are afraid of.

Do rubber boots really leave a scent on the ground? Are deer afraid of rubber? I thought it was recommended to always wear rubber boots when going to the feeder?
