Went to the lease on saturday (waited the rain out) with full intention of sticking something to get the dog on his first blood trail. My brother stuck a little hog sunday morning and it was a perfect set to bust fletch's cherry on. Put him on the spot where the hog was shot told him to "find it", he went to work. My brother had said it was a good shot and he shouldn't be that far, well about 100 yards in fletch is still going strong and i haven't seen a drop of blood yet. Being this was his first Live action and no blood i was hesitant thinking that he was tracking some live hogs, but decided to trust the dog and let him keep going, another 100 yards and i see the hog get up and start walking away. Fletch has never bayed anything, and i have not seen an ounce of agression in this dog. I mean he plays with my fiances cat and licks it. Well when he saw that hog it was like a light switch flipped on, i dropped the lead he ran in front of the hog got him bayed up and i walked up and shot the hog with a pistol. Couldn't have been prouder and glad to see the training come to fruition. Honestly i don't think we would have found this hog, i never saw a drop of blood and i don't know how the hog even made it as far as he did, was a great experience for both of us.....heres a little video i shot after i shot the hog with a pistol....hopefully next weekend we can get him on a deer, im sure he'll do fine
