I was in the same boat. I didn't have my coffee one morning and realized that I was addicted. I got irratible and had a terrible headache. The only problem is that I love coffee.

I just went from my normal 2-3 20oz cups to 1 cup a day. Now I don' t have the withdraws I had before when I miss it and I'm sure it wasn't healthy drinking that much of anything.

Quit coffee? That would be like quitting bowhunting to me! I start with a pot when I get up, and finish with a cup within an hour of bedtime--plus my granddaughter made me a wall clock that has little mugs of coffee instead of numbers, so it's always coffee time!!!

If you quit because the caffeine gave you the shakes, then just stay off caffeine-

Drink coffee all day - decaf mostly - and a gallon of water every day. Do take about 300 of caffeine before lifting

Gave up drinking about 40 oz of coffee a day, been drinking it for 24 years. Realized caffine was causing my anxiety & panics, shakes, night time cold sweats, sleep issues, etc. Been 3 months now still have tension head aches, but I sleep like a log, well rested, foggy mind at first but now far more alert, & no more anxiety/panics, thank G*d. It sometimes stinks cause I want a coffee here & there, hunting will be a trip, & drink selection has dwindled down to lemonade, gatorades, water, 7up on the occasion, but just found allot of rootbeers don't have caffine which was awesome. Kick the habbit, caffine addiction is brutal man & an under estimated epidemic IMHO! Good luck!

Quit caffeine about 6 years ago. For about four days after I got bad headaches! I would just grab a can of soda, take 2 or 3 gulps and throw it away. It would get rid of the headaches and after about four days or so I was threw. No more headaches and felt better than ever. And that's coming from a 12 pack of Dr. Peppers a day habit!

Newer studies have also shown that coffee may have benefits, such as protecting against Parkinson's disease, type 2 diabetes and liver cancer. And it has a high content of antioxidants. But this doesn't mean you should disregard the old maxim "Everything in moderation." Although coffee may not be very harmful, other beverages such as milk and juice contain nutrients that coffee does not. Also, keep in mind that coffee accompaniments such as cream and sugar add fat and calories to your diet. Finally, heavy caffeine use — on the order of four to seven cups of coffee a day — can cause problems such as restlessness, anxiety, irritability and sleeplessness, particularly in susceptible individuals. (from the Mayo clinic)

I drink a full pot every morning. It has no effect on my sleeping, but ask any of my shootin buddies what happens if I don't get at least 2-3 cups in the morning.
