Well what I was thinking was instead of getting on a deer lease next year just use that money towards these types of hunts so realisticly I figure 2500 (lease fees) 1000(gas money driving from lease and back) 400 (keeping feeders full) and so on. So im guessing my budget would be around $4000 -$5000 a year. Now im not opposed to public land hunts at all if this gives me more options of animals to harvest or more chances to hunt for my price range.

I have you covered on Nevada.
BTW, use this to figure out your draw odds.
Elk hunting, How to elk hunt, where to elk hunt, hunting videos, Hunting, Elk pictures, Elk Hunting Guides, Elk Photos, Guides, Outfitters, Hunting Stories
You have the right idea....DIY hunts are way cheaper than paying for a guide or service. Plus, the reward is that much sweeter at the end knowing you did it yourself on public land.
Read Cameron Hanes book "Backcountry Bowhunting" and David Long's book "Public Land Mulies" for some great tips.Last edited by Bowhuntamistad; 09-29-2012, 12:44 AM.
