Not sure if there is a "law" that says you can or cant, but I wouldnt want to be trying to explain that to a GW. Even if you are pig hunting and would never have any intention of shooting at a deer after legal shooting hours, it would be hard to convince the GW. I wouldnt have my bow light with me, but thats just me.

Last year when i was in national forest during deer season i got jammed up by game warden going back to my truck and my light was on my bow.... After SHE checked all my paper she then started checking out my bow and even complimented my set up saying how nice it was and that she avidly bow hunts too. Ive never heard you cant have your light on your bow. Now im not sure if its because im such a handsome ol boy, but this was my experience. Im gonna call someone on this.

I spoke with the game warden about this last year. I called and informed him that I would be staying in the stand about an hour after dark to hog hunt with a light. He said that is fine and thanks for letting him know. If you can call your local GW and let them know. We also call if we plan on doing any varmint hunting at night during deer season. Just keep in contact with them. I have our GW's cell phone number saved in my phone.
