I'm just right up the road from you.... and we saw that clear day in Anchorage today....course it only lasted about forty-five minutes

Took a little 1,200 mile drive up to the arctic circle/Yukon River area this weekend.
It's like a whole 'nother world.

really like this graphic that puts it in perspective - if Alaska was a country, it would be the 15th largest in the world.

They did have a fish ladder up from Creek St, but I don't know if that's the only one.

We did a simulated spill of 11000 barrels (that's about half a million gallons) of diesel in Sitka Sound, and I got the awesome opportunity to work with and learn from USCG, the state dept of environmental conservation, and US Fish & Game. Very very challenging day, but waaaaaaaaay more fun than sitting behind a desk.

I really wanted to buy something as a souvenir, but I'm going to blow up that photo to 16x20 and frame it. Who needs another tshirt with a pic like that!
