    Nasp

We were just approved and funded to start the program at the middle school I work at. Has anyone else started up a program before? I'm looking for any info I can get!

    Thanks
    Shane

I've started a JOAD but not a NASP. If you have questions you can call me. I might be able to help a little. I know someone that is involved with NASP. I'll call him and make sure he's OK with me giving out his contact info. I'm sure he won't mind, but just as a consideration to him. You can reach me on my cell at 281-728-6680

Kudos you and your school for taking the steps to help introduce the kids to archery.

call the Archery director at St. Stephens School outside of Wimberley. I think one of their archers was first in the state last year.

Thanks for the replys. I'll try to give a couple of you a call sometime today. We're very excited about it and we are in the process of setting up a training session so we can buy the equipment.

I heard from the guy I know in NASP. He should be giving me the name of the TX NASP contact to help you.

Burnie Kessner is the NASP Coordinator, I think he is in Collage Station.

Steve Hall at Headquarters in Austin was handling the NASP program prior to them hiring Burnie.

You can e-mail them at by using the e-mial format below.
                (their first name).(their last name)@tpwd.state.tx.us\
Either one of them Im sure will be more than glad to answer any questions you have.

I facilitated the training for 10 middle school PE/Coaches at the school district I am assigned to and have taugh 4th and 5th graders at elementary level.

Here is the contact information my friend got to me. It's a little late since Donnie got you the info first, but here it is anyway.

He needs to contact Burnie Kessner (Texas NASP Coordinator). Here's Burnie's contact info:

Texas PWD - Burnie Kessner 979-862-7341 Burnie.Kessner@tpwd.state.tx.us visit the website at http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/learning...ry/nasp_texas/ or http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/publicat...k0700_1432.pdf

Burnie can tell him when the next training is and whether or not there is an equipment grant available through the TPWD to order the equipment. They can always order equipment through the NASP web site at http://archeryintheschools.org/activ...CategoryID=972

                  Good luck,
                  Edward
