    Checking camera Friday

Should I check my camera Friday in the middle of the day? We haven't had much of anything on cameras and I was thinking about sneaking down to the lease in the middle of the day Friday to check the cameras to see which stand to hunt opening morning. No one has been down there in two weeks. Is it a good or bad idea? I know I will put a little scent in the area and possibly bump a deer.

I don't think it would hurt a thing. If I could get to the lease that early I would check mine

I'd do it to. Middle of the day and then you will have a better idea where to hunt Saturday AM.

I'll be pulling cards from my 6 cameras mid day Friday, but I won't mess with them again until mid day Monday before I head home.

I will be checking mine 1 or 2 hours after dark....that is when I will get to the lease. Now I only drive in my little area when I am putting out corn or picking up a deer. I think walking in will stir up less stuff then driving. Short story long I think you will be fine at mid day.

I'm checking mine too, it will, with the wind, determine where I'm hunting Sat. morning and the rest of the weekend
                Good Luck

If I can check them mid day otherwise no. I don't know how late my deer will be in the feed pens and they aren't accustomed to trucks driving in in the middle of the night.

Absolutely go check them. They are there for scouting. If you are going to hunt without consulting the cameras then why have them in the first place?

I plan on doing that myself if the time works out. Last trip I filled corn right at dark, and moved a camera about 11pm. Next day I had photos of deer started at midnight till about 2 in the morning... and I jumped off the feeder twice moving the camera etc. Didn't seem to bother them much.

No deer have been coming in much at all, but I haven't checked the cameras in 2 weeks.

Now a continuation question. We only walk in while deer hunting. If we are checking cameras, doing work, or filling feeders we drive in. The rancher is rarely on foot also. Should I drive in so that it looks like normal work or walk in and try to sneak in and out without much noise, but a much longer scent trail.
