Isnt their a new law on moving wild hogs?

The guys on the place next to ours just unloaded three trailer loads of wild hogs.

I dont understand why someone would do that in an area that isnt already overrun with hogs!

Unloaded and released? Or unloaded into pen? If released, unless they were all tested for the various swine diseases, that is wholly illegal I believe. Lot of info at www.texasboars.com, but they are down right now.

I don't know of one... but it might not be a bad one to have.

I know of several people that have moved pigs in to an area that didn't have them before... with one exception, every one of them has regretted it...

The one exception was because the person sold the ranch before they got to be too big of a problem.

I don't think that it is legal to do that.

I cant for the life of me figure out why in the heck someone would want to do this. People in ST are paying big bucks for guys in helicopters to kill as many as possible...

My advice is to purchase an AR-15 or similar with several thousand rounds of ammo, and a good spotlight.

I believe this says something about it:

Need any help removing them? My freezer is starting to have some space.

It is not a new law. They must be tested and vaccinated prior to release, then it is perfectly legal. That's how these big ranches keep hog hunts on their books.

man that's an old article jeff...I think it's incorrect...last sentence

Hunting: No license is required to hunt wild hogs. They can be hunted or
                        trapped year-round.

Yeah, it is old, but the part about trapping and transporting wild hogs without being tested is correct.

Even vacc. and tested, I don't think they can be released to the wild, it must be into an approved facility, double fences and all. The effort is to prevent them getting into swine farms and interbreeding, I think.
