Stupid fight for Silva. He has nothing to gain if he wins. Bonner is not a top fighter in his class. -
It seems like the days of the UFC being something above and beyond have passed us. The era of Chuck Liddel and the likes when they would go out and lay it all on the line and let the chips fall where they will are over. I am not seeing the fights that used to make the UFC great anymore. Is it just me or what.Comment

This is a bull fight. Bonner hasn't beat anyone, of any worth, in the past several years. I can't believe Silva is actually taking this fight. I guess he's waiting on GSP to beat Condit for the "SuperFight". GSP has mentioned he wants to beat everyone at Welterweight before he fights Silva. But who knows what will happen. With all the money going around people appear to be getting less hungry and more content.Comment

Just watched an interview with bonner and even he doesnt think he has a chance.. 3 weeks notice.hes been in retired mode for 10 months..only training hes done is working with batista on his first mma fight...
His only chance is if silva trips and falls breaking a leg on the way to the cage.Comment

Maybe so. Just seems like its been a while since there was a fight that made you stand up and take notice. Anderson Silva is not likely to be beat by anyone soon and John Jones isn't either. I guess I want to see a fight that makes these guys dig deep to pull out a win. There are still good fights out there. The thing is most of the good fighters a lot of people grew up watching are fading out. The other problem is the number of cards. This year and last year there has been way too many cards. Overall they have been too watered down. The third and most recent issue has been the injury bug. Just happens sometimes I guess. There has been an injury to a main card fighter almost every other week for the past 2 months. Tomorrow should be a pretty good card.
As far as Silva and Bonnar. Bonnar has only been stopped by the doctor. Never by ko, kto, or submission. He fought Jon Jones to a decision. That being said I dont think he has much of a chance but should be an exciting fight. The fight was made due to Silva wanting to fight in Brazil and other fighters being injured. So this wasnt some long planned out fight. Just fighters stepping in to fight on short notice.Comment

I am going with Bonner.....those bonner boys may get their arse wooped every now and again (not afraid to make money in doing so either) but opponents got their work cut out for them
