    Refrigerator issue

My garage refigerator is acting up. For the last two days the refigerator is warming up. The freezer is still frozen. How is this possible. I thought the compressor cooled both sides, it just cooled the freezer more.

I have a couple of controlls inside. There is the temperature control and ratio of cool to the freezer and refirgerator. I turned it colder and shifted more cold to the refigerator. I haven't checked it today, but something is wrong. The setting haven't been changed in 18 years. Yes it is 18 years old. I did move it into the garage about a month ago. It has been cold up until a couple of days ago.

Luckily for me, I sold my other garage refrigerator a week ago because I didn't need two.

I did the dust about 3 months ago. Before that I have never done it before. If it was collecting dust, wouldn't both sides be warmer than normal?

Same thing recently happened to my garage fridge. running alot in the hot garage and the coils iced over and was starting to block the cool air port. i just shut it off and removed the panels in the freezer to expose the coils, let it thaw out, put it back together now it works fine. (i found out later the kids didn't shut the door all the way a couple times....probably started the ice build up.)

If the freezer is frosted up, the refrigerator part will not cool. The air can not get there. Check the back wall or bottom of freezer for frost. Call if you need help. James at 580 305 1865

I moved it into the garage a month ago with stuff in the freezer. I wonder if something fell down and is blocking the back. I will check the coils and the back of the freezer.

I had one do this and called my Uncle(the expert) for advice. There was a thermostat located behind the freezer compartment that I had to change out and it was fixed.

                This may help.

I got home yesterday and it was 25 degrees in my refrigerator. So it went from room temp to 25 in about 20 hours. I looked around and didn't see anything suspicious.
