Only way I would go, without knowing the landowner personally and knowing for sure what kind of deer are on the place, would be to pay a daily rate of $100-150 and then have a kill fee added when I kill. For a 140 inch deer I don't think $1000 is unreasonable. Don't think I would ever go on a trip like this myself, but sounds like you may. Hope you kill a big one if you end up going.

Well some places in illinois start at $2500 and go to about $4k that includes meals lodging and transport to and from stand. So I could see this scenario going for about $1500

I live here in Kansas, I try and help people like myself and many of you find affordable ways to hunt good property. I also know landowners here who are looking to open their property up a couple weeks during season to select hunters to try and make a little extra income. I basically bring the two together. But finding that price point that is fair to both parties has been the issue. These guys aren't trying to make a killing or living off of this just a little extra. But they do not want to lease the land out to anyone for the entire season. There is liability and risk involved for these landowners. Thy are also opening up a resource that they are fortunate enough to have to someone who does not have it. Hunting has become a big time money industry they just want a small piece of the pie. Personally I would charge much more if I were them. Some only want enough to pay of the land tax orfudn their own hunting seasons.

ok nevermind...was a pretty simple scenario , really don't have to knit pick it and find a way to make it difficult...if you don't really have an answer or anything of value to add then why waste time posting

Chill out Jayhawk. I needed the info to answer your question. And if ya dont like it dont read it. And i wasnt knit picking it. Big diff if a person was on 50 acres or 500 acres. I dont know how thats knit picking at all. Or why its so difficult for you to answer. And i think i asked you to ball park it. I wasnt askin for an exact number. Thats all. So get ur panties unbunched.

Assuming if its big acreage. $1000-$1500 atleast. But thats a guess since you would never answer.

I can't answer because it is a hypothetical...Which means just assume it is exactly the amount you would be happy with. The ideal set up may be different for every person and the price range or value to each person will vary. You could break it down into hundred different questions and specifics, but I was trying to avoid that..I hate the Jayhawks and I am not wearing any painties right now

and unfortunately you have to read something before you know if you like it or not, so I did not have that option..

We hunt 3800 acres in Kansas for a week, the landowner has invited us back to hunt for an additional week at no charge if we are not successful, he has about 5 to 8 hunters for the year, our group is 5, we basically pay 250 a day and are furnished with a nice brick home on the property. I think we have a pretty sweet deal, we have not harvested a deer in the 4 years that we have hunted this property, could have shot several younger deer and have seen a few toads, I think the property was over hunted before our land owner acquired the property. things are looking up, hope the price remains as is.

If it was access ONLY for 1 week with no prior access for scouting, setting up game cams, and maybe even a feeder or 2 then I would say $1,000

If I could go in 1 month before and set up a couple feeders, scout the place, and set up some trail cameras and come back in 1 month and hunt it for a week I would be more willing to pay more like $2,500

that is a great deal. I like that you are still positive about the place even though you have not had success. Just because you don't get a big one does not mean they are not there. Outsmarting one of these big craft bucks is tuff to do in one week. Good luck this season

the landowners I know usually have feeders set up already, as well as some stands. some of them hunt themselves so the area is already scouted and set up accordingly. but I am with you I would want to see it and scout it myself. That is a big part of the fun for me. But I also know they would be open to a hunter coming early to check things out. I just wouldn't reccommend doing it when you are there to hunt as you may pressure an area and push deer out just scouting it.
