    Conundrum

Not seeing alot of shootable bucks at our place (AR County). Have pics of a couple, mostly at night, along with a couple of spikes. Lots of does with fawns.

Freezer is begging for more venison.

Do you shoot doe's with fawns? Never have in the past, but seems this time of year they'd be good on their own, or just hook up with other doe's/fawns.

Will start out looking for bucks/spikes, and lonesome doe's, but by the end of the weekend...............

Take your does early. The fawns can make it on their own.

Agreed, I just try not to shoot the does with twins. I have no scientific evidence to back this up, but that's just how I do things.

I have done it by accident or if the yearlings were nearly as big as the doe. When I did it by accident I trailed the doe at night and the yearling stayed in the area until I found her. Made me feel a little bad but I'm sure the yearling was ok. Depends on the size/age of the yearling.

I'm sure they will be alright but we don't do it on our place. I think the little ones need a little teaching their first winter.

In most places you can take doe early, but in Georgetown there are some that had fawns way late. Too many deer screws up the breeding cycle.

If the spots are gone, you are typically in good shape. BUT I'd shoot a spike over a doe in a multiple buck county.

I'm going to stick with their fawns not having spots.. But, I think they are weaned since they are eating so much corn!
