Mock scrape timing?

I'm going to put out a scrape dripper and set up a game cam on it. When would be the best time? Now? or wait closer to pre-rut. I've seen bucks chasing does in early to mid Oct in our area. I don't think it would hurt anything to do it now, but don't want to waste it for no reason. Any advice? Thanks

Now is a good time depending on the area. We saw some scrapes starting up last week.

Mock scrapes work year around but should have been started mid summer using a formula of amonia and distilled water. You can start as soon as you see the bucks break apart using NON rut scent to start, then buck rut scent, then to estrus starting around Oct 20 or so. Begin sparingly and work up to peak mid Nov..
