    Zero Turn Mower

I have been looking at a husqvarna and snapper zero turn mowers and wanted to know if anybody out there has either and if they are happy with it before I buy one. I only have 1 1/2 acres but has a lot of trees on it. If you have any you like better than these then please let me know what you have/suggest. Also, if anybody has a really good used one they are wanting to part with let me know what you have and what you want for it. I am located Northeast Houston. Thanks. Jeff

I say a good commercial mower any major brand (JD, Toro, Scag, Exmark, Etc), solid steel welded deck

IMO, if ya stay with the commercial mower you will never buy another (if ya maintain your stuff).... I have a Toro Commercial that is an 05' model and I mow 10 acres every other week with it and have not had any issues with it other than maintenance, barely rubbed any paint off the deck and I use it...

I have a husq mz5225 I bought this year and really like it.
I did have issues though. It wasnt greased at the factory as it was supposed to be. Had a spindle go out within 10 hours. I know better and should have checked all fittings when I bought it but didnt.

Other than that it rides/cuts great. Paid just a little more over the price of the residential model and glad I did. Every other part on it may crap out but the frame and deck should last forever, this thing is solid.

As mentioned above, if you go with a commercial model, you will by far be better off. I bought an 04 Scag, mow 3.5 acres/week, no issues. They are definately worth the extra money.

I just bought a Dixon and have been happy so far. It's a heavy duty model and cuts faster than I can handle. My yard is too bumpy to go too fast...

I cut grass for a living. You get what you pay for. Get the welded deck, I promise you'll be sorry if you don't. Unfortunately, the only "good" motors are Japanese made. Kawasaki, Honda, etc. Kohler is okay, but not the best. You're only cutting 1.5 acres, a 48-50" mower with a 20+ hp Jap motor on it, you can't go wrong. Keep up on the maintenance, it'll last forever. Husqvarna makes quality equipment, but you will pay for it. Look into the Cub Cadet, they're pretty nice mowers for under $6k out the door. Good if you're not using it to make a living. I use one as a backup, in case the Scag goes down.

It will be my own yard - not commercially used.

Whatever you do, buy one, you will not regret it! I bought a Scag Tiger Cat about 2 months ago and mowing my 4+ acres went from 7+ hours to 3 1/2 hours! I wish I had
done it 10 years ago. They are giving great deals now, I bought mine with 0% interest for 48 months and no payments until April, 2013!

Anything with a Kawasaki engine.I've had Toro,Exmark,Hustler, and Kubota...The Kubota was a diesel, and I promise you, that it'll mow like a brush hog,or cut like a finish mower, depending on the conditions. The others were, and still are my gasoline mowers, and I really like em.I had a bad experience with a Kholer engine on a Yazoo Kees ztr once and will never own another Kholer engine as long as I live.
