    A bowhunter in Idaho who had shot an elk the night before and was tracking it by a trail of blood found his quarry - and a grizzly bear that was claiming the dead animal.

        Wow. I can see how this happened. I had a run in with a black bear this past May and I can tell you I have a whole new level of respect for this animals. Sounds like the hunter is going to be ok, but this just goes to show we should always be vigilant when in the woods.

            Sounds like he was fortunate this time. Bears will kill you. You cant outrun them and they will eat you...especially if you are trying to steal their food. Griz spray works..handgun, not so much and to stop a charging bear with your bow...is a pretty much no win situation. Be prepared and be smart. ITs all about respect.
