What I did that seemed to really help was I got a Doken dove and pushed a clothes hanger thru it and then would snip it. Did this numerous times in all directions so that it he could barely feel them but if he bit down he'd get a unpleasant feeling,... Just another idea that really worked out with my dog

For clarification.....the dry wall screws are screwed into the frozen bird so the heads are only slightly protruding from the bird, correct?....not the sharp tips of the screws exiting the bird...right???

Just my .02 on all this "FF"

While I feel its critical to guarantee a retrieve, MOST or at least a HIGH PERCENTAGE of dogs can not handle being truely Force Fetched. All dogs are different in attitude, temperment, and ability and being able to read this is VERY immportant. You can ruin a dogs drive if dont wrong.

If I point at your truck and say "fetch", I want a dog to drag me that truck...NOW

That post is alot like FF Constant pressure......

You just keep at it until the dog gets smart, gets tired of being pinched, or bites you. lol

Get one of the orange throwing dummy's and wrap it in duct tape with thumb tacks sticking out. Their mouths are tough and they'll quickly figure out the tacks hurt. Won't have to worry about hurting their mouth then.
