    Hogs and wind

Supposed to be windy (10-18 mph) tomorrow eveing where I am at. I was planning on waiting out some hogs. Does wind (in my favor) effect hog activity?

Maybe, maybe not. My guess is it depends on how hungry they are and if you're up wind.

One of the funnier things I ever heard hunting was a hog with allergies. It wheezed and hacked and sneezed for several minutes.

I never got a shot at it. The wind had blown for a few days and the cedar fever was really bad.

That hog was feeling as bad as I was.

Stalk up wind to them and use you nose.

I dont have near the experience as some of these folks do hog hunting. But I have never had hogs spook due to scent, and have been out and gotten shots in the middle of summer when my sweat probably smelt worse than they do.

we are convienced that the wind keeps the hogs pinned down. HOWEVER, any day out in the stand is better than inside.

I had a big hog come in with the wind all wrong, ie, blowing my scent toward him, slightly raining and windy. Just never know.

I've had good luck on windy days. If they are out they are easier to stalk since they can't hear you.
