and I have success to report. Hiked in solo for about 4 miles to camp and shot this buck first morning as I was hiking to another glassing point.
Its hard to pass up a 45 yard broadside shot so close to camp
. Man, I really thought he was a 4x4 but had a little ground shrinkage. He is a 3x4 with a kicker coming off his right side near the base. Had about 5 seconds to shoot before the herd he was running with took off.
Open sights muzzle loader at 10,200 ft. I hate to admit...but I let myself get a little carried away when I saw him and shot. I should have waited for a bigger buck...but oh well, theres aways next year.
