    Sentry Safe / Gun Safe

I ran across a safe at a estate sale. Its a SentrySafe/ Gunsafe that holds 18 guns. It has a digital key pad for entry and a star handle to open, very heavy.

Does anyone have any feedback on this brand??

I have the non-digital version of that safe. It's fire-rated (can't remember the details) and the door has bar locks on all four sides. I have had it a couple of years and it has been fine. No hinge issues or sticking locks like some of the really cheap models I've seen. The one I have is not the cheap sheetmetal ones either, it's fairly heavy. The door is the heaviest part.

If the price is right, I don't think you can go wrong with these safes. I shopped around for a while and they are a good value even when purchased new.

thanks, it seems to be very well built and heavy, and half price of retail.

I have a Cannon American Eagle from Academy for several years. It's 36"wide x 24"deep x 60"tall and one of the best purchases I've ever made. The peace of mind of having all your guns and valuables locked up in a fire proof or fire resistant box is worth the price alone. Anything can be broken into, but I'd say it's very unlikely that the common crackhead thief could get into it. Buy the biggest one you can afford, it'll fill up fast!

It would keep an honest thief out but it wouldn't help in a fire or if someone was determined to get into it. If you flip it on the front they will open up about half the time. Only have two rods to defeat but if a person was not prepared then they wouldnt get in.

I looked it up on their website and I think its a pretty good deal, I gave 400.00 for it.

Can you drill the back and lag bolt it to a 2x4? At some point the perps give-up and look for another house to rob.

KRB - it will probably be all you need- You will be surprised how fast you fill it up with things besides guns.

well I only have a gun cabinet now and it has a glass front , so it would be simple to bust and get to my guns, I was not really in the market for a big safe but this deal was too good to pass up. It is fireproof and bolts to the floor. It will be good enough for who its for

A fire proof gun safe is one of the best investments that I've made.

Good deal on the Safe. A tip to all safe owners. Make sure the door does not rattle and is tight to the frame. A loose fitting door on a fire safe will cut down on the fire rating by about 10 minutes. Get a few of the large desiccant packs to cut down on any moisture. Enjoy the peace of mind you now have.
