    Android vs iPhone

So I just cracked my 3rd iPhone screen and I'm tired of this slow piece of junk. Anyone have experiences with both iPhones and android type phones. What are the pros and cons of the android operating system?

My wife has an iPhone and loves it. I have a Droid - Samsung Galaxy S2, and I like it a lot better than her iPhone. Probably just boils down to getting used to one or the other. But I hate iTunes and all of the other crap that Apple does to hold you hostage. I like that I can do whatever I want to do with my stuff a lot easier on the Droid.

So what sort of easier stuff do you do on your Android?

I hook it up to my computer via a USB cable, and I can drag and drop pictures, music, or other files from laptop to phone or from phone to laptop. I don't have to go through iTunes or some other junk like that to manage my files.

Apps are basically the same on either system. Vast majority of apps nowadays have versions for both iPhone and Android. Every now and then you'll find an app that just works on one or the other, but it's rare.

What he said. IMO, well it's probably a fact, there's more customization with the Droids. I like the fact I can pop in a spare battery when I'm low and nowhere near an outlet. Huge help during deer season.

Simply put apple says what you can and can not have or do on your iPhone no adobe flash and so on . The droid is more PC based running linix programming in a nut shell

Both function about the same . Android is just more free choice . Run diff search engines ex. Foxfire dolphin what ever . Adobe for those internet sights that require it and so on more freedoms of choice . And with the new galaxy s3 or like me the galaxy note its duel and quad core processors better sceens hide much faster .

You can jailbreak an iPhone. And you can root a droids both are the same giving you root access to the programming in the phone .

The droids when rooted can change ROMs to your likening for smother faster experience and like mine over clock the processor 1.5g duel core to 1.83 duel core

Just lot more options only op. Had one iPhone the 3gs. Wife is on the 4s. I'll never go back don't like being limited

And I can use my phone as a WiFi hot spot or tethering at no cost to me he its unlimited data how can they tell me how I can and can not use it

Any how give the s3 a shot or hell wait a couple months for the new galaxy note 2. 1.6g quad core Google it . That is my next phone

Ah, ok. I can't remember the last time I have hooked my iPhone via USB to my Mac. Music, photos, and apps just sink to all my devices through the cloud when I make a purchase. If I want to get some other music on the Mac to my phone I just tell iTunes which music I want and the next time I plug in to charge by my bedside it sinks via wifi. No need to drag individual files over but if thats your thing, I can understand. I personally like iTunes. It's very well thought out, simple and logical, not to mention pretty powerful. To each his own.

Android has a cloud to if the iPhone guys would get off of theirs . J/k

You don't have to drag and drop anymore but as far as music all that iTunes you got you will have to get an app to put that on a droid

Called Isync ? I think that was the name . If not your iTunes music is stuck in your I tunes see with apple you are only really paying them to let you keep there music on your device . No iPhone no music to new phone . Any how yes to each his own .

Gods hones truth these things do way way way more than any every day person will ever use it for. Just like PC or Mac computers and lap tops.

Me and the wife both have iPhone 4 now, but in a few months when our contracts are up were pretty set on jumping off the iPhone band wagon. Too slow. I really like the galaxy s3, and she wants the note 2.

Those two phones are probably the best Samsung phones out .

If you are concerned about cracking the glass. look up the 3M gorilla glass like is on my Droid X. Two years and it does not even have a scratch. I dont think you can scratch it. androids are just iphones for people who are tired of Apples crap. They do all the same stuff but better. Forward facing camera its the only thing my Droid lacks.
