The new 65qt Pelican cooler review

Received my Pelican 65qt cooler today and this thing is built tough. What would you expect from someone who builds the toughest gun cases. This thing holds 72 acutal quarts, no false advertising there. It has four tie downs molded in the cooler, and a stainless steel latch for a lock if you need one. The handles are large and easy to grab. The plug has no issues and it doesn't use a boat plug. It has a 29 inch ruler molded in. And it is 2 inches of insulation throughout, not tapered like the others. This is the Yeti killer. The 65 cost me 315 to my door. And it is made in the USA and has a liftime warranty. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

I was really looking at getting one just cant get past the handles.. How do they compare to the rope handles?

Not too sure about that drain plug either, but I have never seen one in person either.

only thing that looks weak is the drain in my opinion.

Agreed...nicely built but I am not a fan of the solid handles, the drain plug and the plastic latches. Hopefully they last and don't get knocked off.

I don't see either of those lasting very long

If they work anything like my large camera case works, then I think you've got a good cooler

Don't worry about the plug and handles, lifetime warranty.

A lifetime warranty is nice, but never having to use it is much nicer.. That's why I was wondering.. Again, never seen one in person.
