        The reasoning is this....or so I was told by a chef....you have more taste buds on the roof of your mouth than you do on your tongue so you get a better taste of the burger with the meat on top of the veggies.

            My pickles are always on the bottom of my burger if I can help it. Just makes more sense to me. But I don't call em toppings either.

                    That's a bit weird.

                    Someone needs to let that chef know you can't taste anything on the roof of your mouth.

                    My burger pet peeve is when I get it with the pickles and/or tomatoes stacked directly on top of one another instead of distributed evenly.

                    I've been tempted to ask the burger tech if that's how he would make his own burger - 4 pickles stacked in a column

                        I guess I should just run all my food through a blender first then... just sayin

                        To me its about how it hits the palate. I want beef and bread to be tasted first, not the "garnish". If i wanted it all mixed together id ask for a casserole.

                        I know, i'm just being whiny and nitpicky... but hey, I have expectations for a good burger

                          You make a good point, if I go to a fast food burger place (rarely) I have very low expectations. If I go to a Cafe or Burger Joint then I have really high expectations.

                          I actually like the two halves to be seperated on the plate when delivered to my table. I'll put it together myself and eat it.

                          ONCE again as a reminder;
                          It is 17 days till opening morning.

                            You need to study the anatomy of the mouth a bit more. There are taste buds on the roof of your mouth.

                            Now whether you taste more with the roof or the tongue, I have no idea....that's just what the dude said.
