dont mix more than 20% diesel.

add some blue dye and a cup of dishwashing liquid.

If they are young trees that have never been mowed I use 2 cups remedy to 25 gallons water with blue dye and 1 cup crop oil. This does a very good job on young trees.

That would be mixing way more remedy than needed.

We have cut them before either with a dozer when doing work on the roads or by hand when clearing the roads.

So the cut tree off at base and spray remedy with diesel/dye/soap works pretty good on Misquete or do you find it works better spraying the green leaves. I know on Husiache ...I sprayed about 200 trees last year cutting them down first and just spraying stumps and it worked great.

They recommend letting them grow 2 years after they have been cut down so there is enough top growth to absorb enough Remedy to kill the roots.I get about a 50/50 kill on mowed trees less than 2 years old and about 80 percent by letting them grow a couple years. It's always better to treat them as soon as you cut them down.

That works good. Most of the time I spray the leave with Remedy,Reclaim, dye and crop oil and just let them die.I don't like having to cut them and pile them up.I get about 90 to 95 percent kill this way.

Brush Busters here is a link for ya. We use 5 gallons of remedy to 20 gallons of diesel, and get 100% kill on trees 3ft and under basal stump spraying. No need for dye or soap when using diesel. If you go water then you need the surfactant (soap). We have used water mixes before Remedy, Reclaim, Water, Dye, and a surfactant. Does well but nothing like Remedy and Diesel. You can expect a pretty solid 10 years of mesquite free range if you knocked it all out, but this is not a forever deal with mesquite it finds its way back in. Take a applicator class or a range management class from AgriLife Extension Service in your county, they are usually free or very low cost and offer a ton of information.

                          To revive this thread:
Do I have this right: 5 gal remedy & 20 gal diesel - spray directly on the trunk?
Does this work when they are dormant?

                          ***EDIT
Read the site. Very informative. Answered my questions.

                          Party on.
