                There was a thread on here a long time ago about rattlers digging themselves in like that. Never seen that personally. Make it easier to step on those sorry suckers!

                      First time i have ever seen one dug in ike this.
                      I have posted several pics on here snakes caught on our game cams on this lease we are covered up with them .
                      This year i know of 15 that have been killed by us . The pumper that takes care of the oilwells on this property says he kills two or three a week .

                        Yep, first they quit rattling because hogs would eat them. Then eventually the hogs started eating the ones that didn't rattle. Now the newest fad in the snake community is digging foxholes.

                          I almost stepped on one like that in Sterling City years ago. He was dug in like that by our camp house steps

                            My buddy and I saw the same thing this weekend. When the snake finally slithered off, it had a cool indention where it had dug itself in. We walked within 1.5-2 ft of him several times as we hauled sacks of corn. Be careful out guys.
