Where are the pinch points and funnels.

This is where I hunt in Oklahoma. It's 120 acres. The western edge is a ridge that falls sharply to the west, the tree line is on the neighbors. The area I hunt is west of the ponds to the east. The land falls to the ponds with a sloping ridge between the ponds. What do y'all think. Lots of acorn trees. I'm interested in optionClick image for larger version

I would say between the two ponds would be a good place. But I'm not the best at this kinda thing.

Need a bigger picture. What is to the north? With a predominant SW wind direction I would try to set up on the NE side of a few of the openings along the East side. Do you access the property fro the south?

You say the ridge on the West Falls off sharply. I would find the areas were there is a more gentle slope of the ridge and focus on those areas. Without a topo map it is difficult to make an educated guess.

          Yellow with SW wind.

Red with North Wind and Green if I just had one choice.

Can you clarify what you mean by "the area I hunt is west of the ponds to the east". Maybe draw us a line around the area you hunt.

Either end of each pond especially the bottom one. The outside corner of the field West of the bottom pond.

can you sit on top of the ridges to scout from a distance and let the deer tell you where you should hunt?

The small point of trees approaching the lower pond from the east. Early season in a hot year, the deer will want water as soon as they get up! the trees offer them cover while approaching the pond.

I can't hunt the west tree line. But can hunt the outside corner on the southwest. It has a draw that comes in at a 45 from the southwest. It's a great location.

I would try and hunt the fingers coming from the east that allows the animals to have cover when crossing the field. Hunt according to the wind so that your scent is not blown into the heavily wooded areas. I would prefer my scent to carried into the open field, that is less likely to croos the path of a deer using the cover as a travel corridor.

There is a house and open field to the north. I do access from the south. The land owners house is on the south side. Here's a different picture. The property does not go all the way to the road on the east. There's a narrow forty acre that I can't hunt. Click image for larger version

Also I can't hunt the far tree line. But can hunt the small tree line just west of the and barn. I plan on putting a stand just inside of the out side corner.
