    Longshot, WW2 P38

I know it is a super long shot but I am looking for my Grandpa's Walther P38. I have paper work on it where he brought it back from the war. Serial number 2729. We think he traded it off in the 50's in Tulia, TX. Does anybody know how to look up serial number to see where and when it was made?

Heck, I thought this thread was about the old can opener the Army used to give out. It was called a P38... Have had one on my key chain since I started driving back in the 60's...

Hope you find your Grand Pa's gun. Good luck!

You will probably have to find someone who specializes in WW2 German firearms. That's not something you will probably turn on on google.

Keep a bunch around the house and deer camp most Army Navy stores have then for .50 cent. Funny story my wife used to carry one on her key chain too. Then it came up missing, found out her dad stole it. Well we were shacking up at the time. Well she was furious with her dad, and was talking about how she missed it. Christmas rolled around so I took a P38 and put it in a jewelery ring box. Then wrapped it up and hung it on a branch of the Christmas tree. Well come Christmas morning the first thing she grabs is the little package from the tree limb. She opens it her jaw hits the ground. Well now she has given me a few choice words about what was supposed be in the box Then later she opened this big huge box that I also got her it had some floor mat for her new car some other junk and in the bottom was a sapphire ring she had wanted Now I was the best thing that could happen to her but a few minutes ago I was a sorry SOB go figure She still tells everyone how I tricked her with a P38. Funny thing was I thought it meant more because it took 3 weeks to find and like 6 Army Navy stores. Plus she only complained like 6 months about her dad taking hers.
