Wish I had something to offer for long range. Been using the same load for 25 years, 90 grains FF black powder with a patched round ball.

Is your gun a magnum or standard? It will say it on the barrel and I've heard good things about the powerbelt bullets and triple 7 pirodex (SP) pellets. But the biggest thing is finding what your gun likes. Buy several diff powders and bullets and try different loads to see what groups best. Its time consuming but thats what i did when I shot mine.

Following...just bought a TC Omega. The previous owner said 2 pyrodex pellets, not 3 for this gun.

I've been shooting aTC Hawken for years & shooting about 85 grains. But it's range is 125 yds or less.

I'm hoping to get a shot with in 150 yds but in the NM desert I might find shots out to 200.
Projectile weights is the most important info. I need right now

95gr Blackhorn 209, 250gr Hornady SST ML bullet, CCI 209 primer. Took awhile to shake down the primer choice with powder amount. However, it groups right at 3" at 200 yards with a 9x scope. I'm sure I could do a little better with more magnification, but I doubt I wil ever use that distance unless the Army moves me back to the Midwest in a non-rifle state. Its nice to know that I have it if needed. Biggest problem was finding the right amount of powder to keep the groups from expanding and not knocking my fillings loose. Gun is a TC Encore ProHunter 50cal with 26" barrel.

I have a TC Encore ProHunter with 28" barrel. I use the 250 grain TC sabot bullet in front of 150 grains of Triple7 powder.

Been shooting BP for a while since I started hunting in the mid-west. Blackhorn 209 powder, 100 grains with a 250 grn Traditions bullet and Fed 209 primer in my Traditions Vortex. Couldn't get my traditions bp rifle to group well with pyrodex pellets or triple seven pellets.

                  Hope this helps.

3-50 grain pyrodex pellets and a green 245 grain " I believe" power belt bullet out of a cva optima pro. .50 cal I have shot whitetails out to 150yds no problem. This gun shoots this load great.

150 grs of Trip 7 pellets, 250 gr TC Shockwave Sabot. 2in groups at 200yds. I have used the powerbelts before and lost animals. IMO, they expand too fast and give no penetration even with 150grs of powder.

2 pellets of Pyrodex and a 250 gr Hornady SST out of T/C Omega. I am sitting at 2in high at 100 and dead on at 150 using a peep sight (scopes illegal here).

Bthing you can do is go and shoot, each muzzleloader is different. I actually just shot yesterday, my mule deer hunt starts here in T minus 7 days.
