So it's still LSU and it will be close the first half. 10 to 0 first half then 60 to 3 at end of game I don't know why but LSU plays slow in the first half most of the time.
This game is like the pre-season of the NFL. Why choose a "easy" opponent? Seems like they would want a more competitive team to really see where their team is at, areas of improvement.

Nock off the rust, teams get burned every year on opening week.
Until there is a real playoff system, you have to win every game. Schedule a team like UNT and you win, get to run and hit someone at full speed for 60 min, etc. Plus you set up a home home serious with them. Guarantees you get 2 years home openers for the fans.
A 4 team playoff is a start, but not a real playoff system. It won't fix this. Plus I'm not sure the NCAA wants this fixed. Big schools with large fan bases get to have a home opener. Small schools get to go try to get an upset, get a big paycheck, and gets one of their TV appearances out of it. Seems to be a win for everyone involved in this.

So, why not?
Couple more...
1. with your conference games starting by week 3 you want to get you want to work out some kinks without showing too much to those teams.
2. New coaching staffs also can need to work things out.
3.If you have suspension problems you can deal with them the first week. As it turns out B Hoke would probably rather have a cupcake this week but he handled the situation appropriately.

The SEC is a grind week in and week out. Gotta schedule some "softer" teams in the preseason. No other conference is even close to this tough.
