I've had one long week already. I was driving home yesterday and with some relief I turned onto my half mile, one lane county road that ends at my gate. Home! Thank God!
But wait.... what's that? About 80 yards before my gate, a tree had fallen across the road. See?

That's my gate behind the dead fall. So close, yet so far away....
Dang, I'm in my dress and I gotsta' go - like my eyes were turning yellow, gotsta' go!!!

So, I do what any other redneck, country, woman of TBH would do - I dragged the tree far enough off the side to drive my car around. Yes, in my heels and without gloves. I could only drag it enough to open the right side and drive up onto the side of the road, but it worked.
Then.... as I approached my house, black vultures were ... well you know eating. I chased them off and looked at what they had.
One of my cats had died. I was not particularly fond of this one, but he sure was friendly and loved being with us. Sad way to find him, but at least we know that he passed instead of wondering if a coyote or bobcat got him.
I was not a happy girl when I went into the house, but I was glad to be home. While I dug a hole to bury Tarzan, hubby sat in the truck and talked to me. fyi - he really physically cannot help me with this. But, he didn't have to sit there and tell me that it was 99 degrees, and gosh it was hot out!
He did drive me down to the dead fall so I could cut it up.
When we got back to the house, he cooked some chicken for dinner.
