Anybody dove or duck hunting this year??
I live in belton, just moved down a couple months from tha Dallas area, just wondering if any TBHers in this area dove or duck hunt anywhere around here? I just got a chocolate lab pup who is just over 5 months I have been working with him&he is doing good. Just wondering if anyone wouldn't mind me and my dog tagging along to bird hunt, I wanna get him introduced to hunting ASAP. Lemme know guys&happy huntin

There is some public land available on sh-317 (belton's main st) north of town. Go north through temple passing sh-36. Just beyond 36, on the left hand side of the road, there is a corp of engineers walk in spot. Doves only iirc, I've only hunted there once, but the birds are usually pretty thick. -
I just looked it up. Don't have time to post much here, but Google "Lake Belton Public Hunting" and the first link that pops up will be a Corps of Engineers website with some information and a link to a map that should show you where to go. There are several WMA's around Belton and Stillhouse lakes with decent dove and duck hunting, but I'll leave the scouting up to you as I'm strictly private land this year.Comment

No place to duckhunt. But, would be willing to trade a couple of deer and hog hunts for a couple of good duckhunts if anyone is interested. My lease is near Huntsville. Bow only until after deer season.Comment
