    Ants in switches.

What is it about ants clogging up electrical switches. They keep getting in a switch on my AC compressor and clogging it up so it wont engage. I have sprayed the outside of the lines leading up to the unit but it doesn't work. I put an ant trap inside of the cover where the switch is and they don't care.
    Any advice would be helpful.

You need to put granular ant bait inside the switches and it will keep them out. It may take a few days for it to work, but it will work. I replenish mine once a year in any electrical component that is on the outside of the house.

A contactor with built in cover helps.

I've had the same problem. It happens from time to time on ac and well contacts. Just keep poison out and kill all mounds you see. For instant kill on a mound just pour some gas on them.

Buy a couple cattle ear tags and hang them around your control box.

              Thanks all.
Will give some of this a try.
Airhead. Do you have a TBH sticker on your service van? I think I have seen you driving around.

Are they fire ants or crazy ants?

Put 'em in your feeder boxes too--and I've even put them inside the feeder barrel, up top, to keep the wasps out-or dead.

The permethrin ones. They are usually in a box of 25 with a foil bag inside so you can roll it up and keep them fresh

i wonder if those would be good at keeping the skeeters away.

Hang those tags inside stands as well to keep out bugs during the offseason.
