Well, as had been discussed in the DIY area, my son and I made us a hog trap/pen a couple of weeks ago. We've been checking it every other evening just before dark, but until tonight have had no occupants.
I got in tonight right at dark and decided to go check the trap anyway by way of flashlight and also to drop in some more corn. My son had other things to tend to, so I went alone. My mistake, it won't happen again and I won't go w/out my rifle. That way, I can shoot from a distance.
Arriving near the pen, I realized that I had company and they were not happy with my presence. There were two very large sows and five little ones all total. My gosh these animals are powerful!
The two sows started ramming the back panel until one finally busted through and came back around behind me. As she passed, I shot my pistol several times at her. As a shot w/a pistol.....I stink. May not have been a pretty hit(s), but it counts just the same.
As the second sow was getting through the opening in the trap, I shot at her and hit one of the little ones. It'll be good split in half and put on the cooker. The rest of the little ones sqeezed through and hauled butt for the creek.
It was a very intersting evening to say the least. This is our first attempt at trapping hogs and it's definately a learning experience. I'll post some pics tomorrow when I get back.

I'll go back tomorrow after work and assess the damages to the pen
