Dove choke for a 12g. (M or IC)

So, Ive been in an argument about what choke is the best for hunting doves with a 12g..
I say Modified, and he is arguing that an IC or Full is better.

What do you guys have to say?

depends on what shot.

i use a mod or tighter when shooting 6, mod or lower when using 7-8

I'm not a shotgun expert, so I can't answer the question. However, I'm confused why your buddy would argue either Full (narrower pattern than modified) or IC (wider pattern than modified)?

yes, and their wouldnt me much left to eat on that bird if you shot it with a full. Just a cloud of feathers.

If I'm using a shotgun with one barrel I shoot Improved Cylinder. I'm mostly concerned about giving myself the best chance of killing EVERYTHING that flies within 20-25 yards. I'll have less of a chance on the long shots but that's a good trade off in my book. I hate missing short shots!.

Depends on on what load you're slinging and most importantly how the birds are flying. Some days u need cylinder. Others u need full. Day in day out, I have IC in more than anything else though.

I shoot IM (improved modified) and LF (light full). Rarely ever wing a dove.

In my 410 I shoot Full/Full.

O/U of course which is Why I have 2 different chokes.

I personally use Improved Modified (in between modified and full) with 7-1/2 shot Remington ShurShot... I have been more accurate with the setup than any other I have tried. I have tried all three: full, mod, improved mod out of a 12 gauge and the IM has by far been more accurate for me.
