Loma Alta tx

Has anybody ever hunted in the Loma alta tx area ? I'm looking to buy a small ranch out there and they say that there is alot of exotics is that true ?

How small? We've hunted a good size ranch of the last 20 years. All the ranchers in the area are constantly complaining about the ranches in yne area being cut up into small sections and being sold off. Main reason is the water. Be ready to drill a well and spend $15k+ to have it done. We love the area and have a great ranch owner and know most in the area. Have a ton of great memories out there!

Hunted out there last year. I had a blast. Very beautiful country. But....my experience was not a lot of exotics. We hunted 5k acres at the end of Dolan rd. There were tons of aoudad. In fact so many I think that is why we did not see a lot of wt. They were like pigs. But as far as other exotics, we would catch on gamecam the occasional axis or elk but never saw any while on stand.

We are seeing more exotics every year! Rancher said we have alot of axis on the ranch right now.

Lots of Audad, some Axis depending on ranch. Pretty good whitetail, again depends on ranch and ability to control exotic population.

Saw two axis bucks fighting off 277 (low fence next to road) 4weeks ago. Also saw 3 monster aoudad.

I use to hunt on a ranch off of Dolan Creek Rd. We had a lot of deer some auodad and I've seen Axis down by the devil's river state park. Here's a buck I shot in Loma Alta.
