I became a City of Houston statistic today!

I misposted this in the wrong forums, this is the correct place.

Well, I became a statistic today. A friend and I are attending a training course on the N. side of Houston at one of the local hotels. For lunch we went to Popeye's on Imperial Valley @ the Beltway. After we finished eating we went back to the truck and noticed that our (both his and mine) laptops were missing.

We had them in the back seat in the floorboard. My windows are dark tinted and the doors were locked.

In the keyhole of the drivers door had been pushed in with what looks like a flat head screwdriver.

What was even stranger is that there was a shotgun under the back seat, a pair of lacross rubber boots in the back floorboard, a stinger flash light charging, and my XM. The only thing that was taken was the PCs.

Did I mention that the Pr*&#ck locked my doors back. Then to cap it off, it took 2.5 hours for the HPD officer to come over.

Anyway, if anyone in the Houston area hears of a HP L2000 "LiveStrong" laptop being moved for really cheap, I may know where it came from.

Yeah, I know.....fat chance and it is probably in Mexico, but I figured I needed to vent a little.

Thanks Ronnie for the quick reply!

When my phone got stolen, I was also surprised that the firearms were left un touched. The guns were in plain sight and the only thing that I could figure was that they didn't want to play in the Federal arena.

At any rate, I'm sorry that this happened to you.

Oh, yeah... Dont eat at that Popeyes. That aint the best part of town. I grew up in that area. They dont call it Gunspoint (greenspoint) for nothin. There are several pawn shops not 5 blocks from where you were. Probably wouldnt be a bad idea to check em out.

        Sorry to hear.

Sorry to hear that. I wouldn't dump a rabid stray dog out anywhere on Imperial Valley. It is a jungle (in the county and city).

I don't think the keyhole was pushed in. I think they use a saw blade to cut it open enough for a L shaped tool that can push the lock up. Had it happen to my truck twice. Luckily for me nothing valueable was taken either time. One time I had a range finder and $300 binos on the front seat.

If that's what they did, your key will no longer work.
