Good morning fellas. After a lengthy look at things this morning, the big question is, is Isaac going to come to Texas? I'm pretty sure most are wondering if that is a possibility. Of course, anything is possible but more than likely Isaac will stay east of our area. As of right now, I'm putting landfall from Gulf Shores, AL to St Petersburg, FL. Of course this is not written in stone, just what I personally think will happen. We still need to keep an eye on it because crazy things can happen when dealing with tropical systems. I have seen tropical systems completely go against models (even with tight clustering of the models) in the past which left highly qualified meteorologist scratching their heads. I don't think that will be the case here....just something to keep back in the the ol tool shed for thought.

Isaac looks to be getting his act together with deep convection starting to fire around the LLC.

          that's good stuff!!!

We rode out Ike when we lived in Magnolia(North west of Houston) I was up at 2:30 watching the news and listening to the storm until the power went off, got my wife into the living room where the windows were boarded up and she slept thru it all!! After the power went out I watched the radar on my phone and listened to the radio. There were some fires that morning that they were reporting on. We lost the top half of an oak tree, the shortest one in the yard! I figured it would have taken the dead pine that I didn't notice was dead until the day before, I thought for sure it would be coming thru the garage and bedroom!

Yep. 13 hours for us from Beaumont to Nacogdoches. Even had to go through Louisiana!

Even more of a westward shift in the latest model runs.

Weather Underground provides information about tropical storms and hurricanes for locations worldwide. Use hurricane tracking maps, 5-day forecasts, computer models and satellite imagery to track storms.

I just came on here to post the latest Euro model run....big shift to the west, which I'm not really liking too much. This is the scenario I was texting Bonesplitter about last night.

It's one of those "we need the rain" but not the hurricane situations.

Exactly!!! When Rita hit right before bow season it screwed the season up bad at our place near Huntington!

That is kind of scarey. That path gives it more time and energy to become huge!

The euro model is the western outlier but it's a very sound meteorological possibility showing a stronger ridge steering Isaac more to the west. The euro has been trending west for the past 6 runs it looks like and I ALWAYS pay attention to the euro model come tropical weather time. Then on the other hand we have the GFS model which IMO has been nails so far this hurricane season. This model has been inching westward the past few runs...not as drastic as the euro by any means. All scenarios are still at play.....man these things are dang near impossible to forecast, which is why I love watching them.

Here is the latest euro model loop:

Tonight the euro will have some very important data dumped into the modeling by the G-IV Jet. Let's see what happens when that data is ingested within the model.

'Not Scott' is a big boy, he can take care of himself. But, yes I would be worried about him and anybody else in the path . . . there, you happy?
