Our ranch is north of 90 off FM 334. We've had a few run ins with illegals. About 12 years ago my dad, his buddy, and I were sitting on the back porch having a few cold ones and out of nowhere 8 walked out of an old barn about 100 yards from the house wanting water and food. We'll also catch em on the game camera getting corn out of the feeders.

The movie town of Lonesome Dove was built on the ranch in Kinney county and as soon as the movie was finished, the "illegals" came across and over a period of time have almost dismantled the whole set and took it across the river... They stole my jeep, but some folks saw them crash the ranch gate with it and called the sherriff. They caught up with them and I got my jeep back...

Yea, there are "issues" with "illegals" in Kenny County just depends on what part of Kennny county you are talking about. You'd better hope your camp isn't anywhere near the Sycamore Creek creekbed. It's an "illegal's highway", or the road that cuts off 90 just West of Brackettville and cuts through to Quemado on Hwy 277... another major traffic lane.
      Wow!! Thats crazy...

I was on the lonesome dove lease for awhile been going there for 7 years. Believe it or not I never saw an illegal out there, my brother had one walk under his bowstand packing bags but he never saw my brother, caught up with the BP and they tracked him down. We never had a problem with them, Bp was on the ranch 24/7/365 though.....There have been issues with other guys on the ranch but i guess we were lucky not having any problems while we were there.....They did stuff that little pueblo house on Lonesome Dove full of pot one night BP was waitng for someone to pick it up and ambush them nobody ever came (BP has some corrupt individuals in it too). We ended up getting off the lease last year from a multitude of other issues but the traffic was also one of them, we would always see sign of them being around but rarely saw them....sycamore creek is a highway though, thats where my brother saw that one at down in the pecan grove. Bp guys are good peeps and would always stop by and let us know what was going on.....They went around and put stickers in all the deer blinds saying call this number if you see any activity, you are in quadrant C or whatever, don't know if it helped any but was easier to explain where you were if you had any issues....I think anywhere around that area in Kinney county your going to see them or sign of them and may or may not have any issues with them....Only takes one to make a good day a bad day real quick though, being that close to the border your always watching your back ( i always hated that about where we were at)

We have seen illegals two times north of Brackettville while hunting. We have also had things come up missing but mostly, the water line gets cut that provides water to our troughts - then it runs for a couple weeks until we find that the water isn't working. What a mess.

You should expect that at some point illegals will traverse your lease area... Most will likely try to avoid any and all contact with you... Best thing to practice is never leave valuables (especially guns) that you are not ready to part with at your hunting camp... No matter what locks and or bars you use if they really want they will brake in... a lot of people leave their trailers unlocked to avoid the extensive damage done when their places are broken into... Leave water and some food on the porch and chances are no one will ever brake in... You should have a chance at some nice deer, maybe not giants but nice... Good luck

I have a run in with one particular one every night and she wont stay on her side of the bed and fights me for pillows. The US government has her on their radar screen but they just keep one "lazy eye" on her and kick her around a little but never make her return to "her side" of the river, but she does get threatening letters on ocassion. I will remember not to let her walk too close to my fence and really hope she doesnt dismantle it..honestly somedays I wish I was a BP agent myself..I would fix her little red wagon

Used to have a lease on the south Llano river they constantly broke into our cabin and would clean it out. Mainly take bedding and canned goods.

Stop and talk to the local Border Patrol. They will be able to tell you all about it.
