do the exotic sheep crossbreed? also will they crossbreed with domestic wool varieties (suffolks, etc)?

I think originally the corsican sheep was a cross between a mouflon and barbadoe if im not mistaken. Now a days, I think ranches call any brown sheep a "corsican" They were not brought over from corsica. Also the texas dall and black hawaiian names were made up for the hunting industry. A texas dall is nothing more than a white corsican sheep. Same with the black hawaiian, just a black corsican.

nuts. was hoping to diversify the target selection in the pasture by adding a few exotic rams and ewes. not sure the grazing leasee would be real happy about that when he rotates his wool makers through and comes out with some crosses out of his ewes.Last edited by bcdawg1; 08-20-2012, 07:36 PM.
