I guess old women don't count. I don't see a single one and I know they are here. Maybe we should name that list something else.

Dang I guess I am old, remember before Bear even made a compound , the argument about making compounds legal in tournaments, names like ,redwing bows,root bows york bows Diablos, gordon glass arrows .
The ones that started this fad , Howard Hill , Jennings, Hoyt,Bear, Tom Kittrige
Remember when a Burger button and A Flipper 11 was high teck.

Dang stik and string!, the names you mention bring back a lot of memories, specially a couple that not too many people might not have heard of or not know. Tom Kittrige, and of course the Burger buitton. I shot along side Vic Burger a couple of time...the inventor of the Burger button.

Howard hill, the man that started me in archery. I was 6 or 7 years old at the time. It was Saturday morning, and mom gave each my younger brother and i 2 bits for us to go to the Saturday morning movies at the old Fox theater, as we did every Saturday morning. As would be expected the theater was full of elementary school kids, running and causing heck. We were told to sit, and be quiet....we were in for a treat?, so the loud speaker blared.

Light was still on, everybody looking at the screen waiting for the Tarzan movie to began. 2 young men came out with a round straw archery target on 3 legs. They had barely cleared the target when we heard an arrow traveling overhead, and hit dead center. We all turned around towards the balcony from where the arrow had come from.......it was the most enjoyable hour of seeing the most incredible bow shooting ever, to us kids anyway.

Fred Bear, that is another story of my teenage, and very young man's life...for another time.

The rest is history....thanks for the memories stic and string.....it has been a long ride, hasn't it?

I guess I'm in this class of bowhunters that is called old. I'll be 54 in December and started bowhunting when I was 17.

Signed on in 1999 with TBH. Green Screen ever since.
Shot my first bow (orange and white fiberglass recurve , Ben Pearson) with 46 cent cedar arrows back in 1957.(Still have some of the arrows)
Only missed one Bonanza....been to all the rest.
I celebrated the 27th anniversary of my 39th birthday this month.
Happy to be here !

Been around since '99 - 2000 but don't remember exact sign up date. Lurked for a while as I was new to bowhunting and was afraid of posting with all the experts on here like Michael, Casey, Legdog, Ben (was just a pup then) etc....

59 years and 4 months young and still counting!
