I feel your pain a little better than I would like to. My grandfather (who raised me) is undergoing surgery to remove his bladder (due to being eaten up with cancer) today at 1:00. The doctors said that due to his age and heart that there is a 1 in 5 chance he will not survive the surgery.

I've always admired John for his rigid defiance and handling this situation strictly on his terms. Although I'm sure it's caused some pain to his family and close friends, I doubt those that know him would expect anything less. An amazing man for sure.
