So I get a call for one of our lease board members

He says, you know that stand you use to have in the woods by the swamp ? I ask , what do you mean use to , what happened to it ? Nothin its still in the same spot its just not in the woods anymore. Huh? They clear cut it !! I knew I should've built a octagon blind!!!

Now it's all good now I can do some food plots and I can get it just like I want it as it grows back . I just got to get up there and make a few adjustments for this year.

Yep, good way to look at it, might as well make a food plot and take advantage of the clearing.

Deer actually like that kind of activity.

went to fill the feeder this past friday only to find that my area had fire-breaks cut, roads cleaned up and timber thinned out. it looked like an f4 tornado went thru there. i feel your pain, i wanted to cry. i just set back up the best i could and drank some whiskey. hopefully we will get a little new growth between now and opening day for the bucks to graze on. trying to keep it positive but its real difficult.

                  sorry for your bad luck.

Selective cutting can be very beneficial to deer habitat. Make the best of it.
