thats a timber rattler better known as a canebrake rattlesnake. Someone has pulled his rattles off. BTW it is illegal to kill or possess those in Tx

i kinda thought it was a canebrake, but i've only seen one in my life, and don't recall the orange-ish stripe down the center of the back....that was a beautiful snake before it got wacked.

No shakers....dark black tip.
Didn't look cut.
Went through 30 min prior and didn't see it.
Saw one other truck and I'm sure she wasn't stopping for no snake.
Out in the Gore for you locals.
