Online process now- much faster than before. My students have gotten their stuff back in 5-6 weeks. I think most instructors charge 120-130 per person but do discounts for larger groups.
The state will charge 140 for your license. I think its $10 for fingerprints. Pretty easy now days.

a guy puts on a class in Centerville and charges $75. You have to bring passport photo
and i think now you will have to go get finger printed. He will help you with the paper work. He does it on Saturday, classroom in morning and shooting in the evening.

Finger prints? Where do I do that or is it part of the class? Also will they do all the back ground check or will I need to pull all my stuff?

You will need to go online to the DPS website and click on the CHL link. It is all explained there. The fingerprinting is best done digitally. I'm not sure they even take
the old fashioned ink prints anymore.

Also, do your background info online. It is MUCH faster. The majority of your questions though can be answered at the DPS website.

Finger prints are done by a 3rd party company for the state. You'll have to schedule an appointment. Link to company is on state website when you register online.

Some places can do them on sight, but still need to schedule through L1. They have a list of qualified sites.

If you are Active duty or Veteran, get a certified copy of your DD214... wort about 50% discount off the DPS filing portion.
