    Stand Placement advice

My house backs up to some land owned by hundred of companies in small parcels to be set aside and to never be touched. I have very nice deer come up every year and this year I want to cap one. I already have a feeder set up and now i need a blind to place nearby. The problem is I might cross our propery line by literally a few feet. How much trouble do you think i could get in if i shot a deer while I was a few feet (2-4) across my property line? The deer would be on my property. There are no fences to mark the set aside land. Thanks guys. I appreciate any advice.

As long as your projectile does not cross the property line, the deer is shot on your property and the deer dies on your property, you are legal. Sounds iffy to me.

My buddy is a game warden and ill pass it on to him. I just wanted the green screens opinions. Thank you for your response. Also keep in mind that people ride fourwheelers and stuff back there and the police haven't said anything or the game wardens.

This won't be a problem if you can secure permission from the landowner beforehand to retrieve wounded deer that venture off your property.

Problem with that is the hundred or so acres is literally owned by hundreds of people to prevent people being able to sell it.

By reading this, I take it you know where the property line is at.....while its just a few feet and the likelihood of being caught is miniscule, it is still crossing onto another persons property without permission. I wouldn't feel right doing it. Posted from Texasbowhunter.com App for Android

Don't make a big deal out of it, may be too late now.

Its trespassing. Plain and simple. No offense but if you cross the property line your in the wrong. Just because others are trespassing dont make it ok.

Actually I dont know exactly where its at. I have a general idea plus or minus 4 feet. I am not one of those people who bends rules. If i was THAT kind of a person I wouldn't be saying anything or asking advice from the local game wardens, now would I? I'm just waiting on a response from them.

I also have a friend a few hundred yards down from me that has a few acres that I could hunt but once again the property line becomes an issue. Plus how in the heck am I suppose to get written permission from nearly 100 companies who all own intertwined 1 acre lots in the 100 acres or so, that these properties back up to.

Also I forgot to mention that the companies who own these parcels set it aside as a migratory bird sanctuary. So I guess it is the same as if you hunted land that backed up to a state park. I might be able to get a hold of certain companies but I'm not sure yet.

You asked how much trouble you could get in if you shot a deer 2-4 feet across the property line. Its poaching and you could get in alot of trouble.

You caught me on my wording. I edited my first post. My stand is what is in question. My feeder is within the property line. I won't shoot a deer if its not on my property. I will not poach because I refuse to be that kind of a person.

If you aren't on your land its called trespassing no matter the distance across the line.
