    iphone gurus...restore question

My iPhone 4s took a dunk in the Laguna Madre a few days ago. A total loss (please no advice about a bag of rice or an oven )

Anyway. My wife had an old iPhone 3GS that I just got reactivated with a new sim card. It's got my number assigned but all of her contacts and everything else. My 4S had been recently backed up/synced on itunes. I can't figure out to get my iphone data onto her old phone. Not so much concerned about music, photos, apps, but mainly the contacts.

Is there an easy way to restore the phone using my last backup from the damaged phone? THanks.

i have to say that was a major flaw for I-tunes. your outlook contacts is the best back up restore you got.
main reason i switched to a droid and Kies. i can edit contacts info save that file and if i want to switch back to an earlier file. etc...
    I-tunes is lacking

sorry amigo it's gonna take someone with serious hacking skills to bring your contacts over...

maybe a guru at the store????

i guess i should give my reasoning

i switched from blackberry to i-phone... all contacts came over with the store doing it.. downloaded I-tunes to the computer told the phone to sinc/back-up.... lost all my contact phone numbers due to it sinc'ing with outlook (which i did not have every phone number for every contact i did have in my phone) total re-do.....

depends on how you backed up your contacts. mine is set to window contacts. You need to just sync the 3gs to the same way you had the 4 set up.

I would strongly consider completely wiping the 3GS phone then sink with iTunes
        as a restore.

Or call Apple or go to the store. Best bet if you go to the store call first and make an appointment.

Trying that now. It's restoring/updating. Almost finished.

I wonder what cat facts would do to it before it completely restores?

After restoring/updating itunes said "This iphone has been previously synced to another computer. Then it gave me an option to restore from various iphones and ipods that I've used in the past. I selected the one that I last backed up on 7.27.12 and everything went well. Thanks Brian.

Prosser, don't you have to corn weevils to round up?

Good news... I strongly suggest a waterproof case. Those phones are so spendy. Lifeproof has never let me down.

I think the phone dip in the water was just a sign from god that fat folks aren't meant to fly.
