    Any offshore Paramedics on here?

Have a possible opportunity to go to work offshore as a paramedic and just curious if anybody on here is or knows one and their experiences/opinions.

Not a lot of action, and you end up helping out doing safety checks in down time. When it goes bad, it goes Really bad though. Usually helps to have some experience suturing and a few other advanced skills.

Who do you work for? Do you prefer working offshore or on the streets??

Our medic offshore helps out doing paperwork also. There label is medic/clerk for the most part it's a layback job. Dont know what the pay is like sorry I could help there. But I do know that you will either be helping the Forman or lead operator out with paperwork.

It helps to know someone. Have a few friends that do it, most like it and say that it's a pretty laid back job with a lot of down time. A couple others can't stand it because of being gone from their families 14 or 21 days, but they stay with it for the money.

This is kinda what I was thinking. I would be on a 28/28 rotation

Ya, I've passed on it a couple of times because of the kids. With 3 that are 5 and under, you miss a lot in 4 weeks.
