First things first.....Shockey's daughter is hot, Second things is I like how the show everything that is involved in hunting a particular region(airport travel, scenic views, etc). Sometimes I dont care to watch some of the crazy things they hunt, but other than that top hunting show on tv.
One of, if not the, best pro hunters out there. Been watching and following him for over a decade. The records he holds, with a muzzleloader especially are second to none. The rawness of his hunts are so cool and he gets to go, and take us with him via the camera to places we would not even think about going, much less hunt.
Oh, love me some Hal and Leonard!!!!!!! And Jim is very pleasant to look at from this perspective!!!!!
I love this show. Shockey is the real deal. I talked to him and his wife and the Dallas Safari Club show a few years ago. He could not have been nicer.
He may act full of himself on his shows, but I was lucky enough to share a hunting camp in Wyoming with him a few years back. He was hunting Big Horn sheep and I was hunting elk. He was as down to earth a gentleman as anyone I have ever met. I have met a few of the TV celebrities in a hunting camp and he is one I would share a hunting camp with again. Can't say that for most of the rest of them. He answered every question me and the guides threw at him and about a month after I got back, I got a boat load of info and DVD's from him. I would love to go on his bear hunts. His shows area as good as anything on the hunting channels.
I have been told this by many folks over the years. Not what I have heard about sooooo many others that use TV as there platform!
Shockey is Awesome! He can be as full of himself as he wants to. He has the skins to back it up...see what I did there? I think a lot of what comes off as arrogant is him having a good time with his camera men and producers. I also love that his son Branlin is the guy doing all the editing and putting this show together. Not to mention Corey Knowlton is a huge part of this show's success, and he's a TX boy!
