    I need to know...

About Waco, Tx. Me and my lady are going to head up to Waco to watch Josh Abbott play on August 24-26. We will be there the whole weekend, but the purpose is to see JAB play Friday. What else is there to do? Do's, dont's, must sees, must eats? Hook me up boys. Also where to stay? Thanks!

FYI- This is going to be a first date of sorts. So keep that in mind!

              Nice resturaunts:
              Diamond backs $$$
              Brazos famil steak house $$
              Heitmillers steak house $$

              Fun Foods, good atmosphere:
              Georges bar and grill $-$$
              JB's bar and grill $-$$
Crickets bar and grill (don't eat their food!) just good atmosphere and like 132 beers on tap.
Ninfa's restuarant pretty nice bar (but I think they allow smoking in the bar)

              Places to stay:
              Hampton
              Holiday Inn Express

Not a lot to do in Waco tho....
There's a drive in Movie Theatre in Gatesville (30 min. drive)
We have "our" river walk just stay away after sunset.

Stay away from the Baylor area fast food places after dark!

                    Mexican: Ninfa's (try the Ninfa-rita)
                    Seafood: Buzzard Billys (canjun specialties)
American: George's (good food, cold beer)

Texas Ranger Museum, Praco Pawn & Gun, RiverWalk

They also have a Courtyard Marriott to stay at. In addition to Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum (Lawmen, not baseball team) there is the Texas Sports Hall of Fame and Dr. Pepper Museum (I have only been to the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum but seen stuff for the other places). Make the drive up to West and go eat at one of the places that is not along I-35.

The sandman. That made me laugh out loud. Too bad they tore down the Mardi Gras hotel.

George's and Ninfa's are must do places to eat.
