? and favor from the GS gun gurus.

I have about 15 or 16 guns from a friend of mine that I would like to find out what these guns are worth. I have them because he has Stage 3 Lyme disease and is basically become dependant on someone to take care of him and at times has become violent. Hence, the guns are at my house. His wife is contemplating selling the guns and I would appreciate it if I could send the information of these guns to someone to find out what she could possibly get for the guns on the open market. Can anyone help?

    Thanks.

Create a spread sheet or word document detailing every aspect of the rifles and collection

        Make
        Model
        Caliber
        Metal Finish
        Stock
        Condition
        Optics
        Overall quality
        Extras (ammo, dies)
        Comments

The aforementioned information will help the appraiser with ballpark prices

Are you/they wanting to sell as a whole collection, or price out each one. My BIL would give you a total bid, but it wouldn't be as much $ as sell each one yourself.

Check out the Blue Book of Gun Values. You can either buy a printed copy or an online subscription. I had an online subscription in the past, that I'd use when I was thinking about buying or selling something from my collection.

Another suggestion to help verify age , value, and collectibility

Include the serial number x'ing out the last 2-3 numbers

                  i.e. G1528***

Pictures are also nice to include

Just my opinion but the "blue book" is worthless unless you are using it to buy. It is outdated by the time it is published.

I am willing to help if needed, but between these guys above on this thread you have some real experts. Gunbroker is a good place to start seeing what they are actually selling for.

                      Sorry about your friend.

Check the recent sales prices from GunBroker for a general idea, and whatever you do, DO NOT TAKE THEM TO COLLECTORS FIREARMS
